Summertime in Colorado is pretty awesome. Camping, hiking, backpacking, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, outdoor yoga, trail running, free concerts and movies in the park are just a few of the great activities we all look forward to this time of year. When the temperatures rise and we want to seek refuge in the mountains or the shade of a tree in a local park, we can really do as we like with whatever free time we can manage to find.
But as you hike that favorite trail, maybe consider that it takes hard work to keep it pristine for your regular use. As you take full advantage of your good health, remember that many are not so lucky. Or that juicy summer read you plan to take on your upcoming vacation? Recognize that many children don’t have books to read over the summer.
