Sunday night was the annual VMA’s, something I look forward to every year for as much the fashion as the live performances. The fashions always tend to be more adventurous and risque than traditional awards shows. However, this year the white carpet was fairly bland and conservative, other than Lady Gaga’s wild Alexander McQueen ensemble. Somebody had to stand out right?

Stars’ style was somewhat dominated by black, white and silver – classy, but boring. Wearing simple black were celebs like Ke$ha, who wore a dress of her own creation made of garbage bags and style icon Coco Rocha who wore a glamorous Zac Posen gown.

Black and white was a common color combo as seen on Katy Perry, who rocked a short, full-skirted Marchesa dress and Ashley Greene, who donned a lace Giambattista Valli.

In perhaps the most rock ‘n roll genre of the evening’s fashion, silver shimmer and shine illuminated stars like Audrina Patridge, who wore an Isaac Mizrahi mini and Selena Gomez, who looked statuesque in a corseted Reem Acre.

Perhaps not the most edgy looks this year at the VMAs, but no major fashion casualties either.
