01/21/2012 - 10 Day Terminal Kings Urban Art Project with Z-Trip @ City Hall
On Saturday, January 21st, City Hall was the scene which hosted the closing party for a 10 Day Terminal Kings Urban Art Project for Denver International Airport, featuring an electrifying performance by DJ Z-Trip. The art installation displayed some serious talent from DJ Trails, Sam Flores, David Choe and Highraff. They created the first Kinetic Mural art show, which will be displayed at the Denver International Airport for the next 5 years.

01/13/2012 - Avicii @ The Boulder Theater
An excited crowd shuffled in anticipation as they waited for Top 10 Swedish DJ Avicii to take the stage at the Boulder Theater on Friday the 13th, 2011. The Boulder Theater was one of many stops on Avicii's One Million Dollar Tour For Hunger, which aims to raise a million bucks to fight hunger through Feeding America. The young DJ, who has developed a considerable following in Colorado (especially after his memorable performance at Skylab), dazzled with his fresh approach to house music and remarkable digital displays and lighting design. The theater brimmed with positive energy and enchanting beats on a night the audience clearly didn't want to come to an end.

11/25/2011 - Spacetime Continium, Woody McBride & Mark De Clive-Lowe @ Bar Standard/Milk Bar
On Friday, November 25th a fun-seeking group of people gathered off Broadway inside Bar Standard to see DJs Spacetime Contiuum and Woody McBride (AKA DJ ESP). Attendees drifted between the upstairs and the club's lower level retro-styled Milk Bar where the popular Mark De Clive-Lowe had the whole crowd dancing into the AM. The space was packed with jazz enthusiasts, hipster urbanites, and everyone in between - all making the most of another great Friday night in Denver.

12/04/2011 - Red Ball @ Exdo Event Center
Dance routines, body painting, collosal hair art, hot women and even hotter men walked the runway at the third annual Red Ball, held at EXDO Event Center. Appropriately dressed in red, Denver's fashion community attended the famous fundraiser on December 1st in commemoration of World Aids Day, enjoying an energetic cocktail reception and showing support for the charitable cause. The event was hosted by Denver's exuberant anchor Chris Parente, and nationally acclaimed designer and aids activist Mondo Guerra made a special appearance. Proceeds benefited the Denver Colorado AIDS Project.

12/03/2011 - 1st Holiday Fashion Show benefiting Christmas for Kids @ City Hall Amphitheater
The Denver Active 20-30 Group proudly launched their 1st Holiday Fashion Show benefiting Christmas for Kids on Saturday, December 3rd, at City Hall Amphitheater in Cue's Room. Everyone who is anyone attended this "swanky" affair, dressed in their best Holiday Garb, while enjoying great music, open bar and hors d'oeuvres. And of course the evening wouldn't have been complete without beautiful Donna Baldwin Models strutting their stuff, dressed in stunning designs by Sue Wong hosted by Mariel. Fashion show produced by Tobie Orr. 100% of the proceeds were donated to underprivileged children in Denver.

11/02 - 11/13/2011 - 34th Annual Starz Denver Film Festival
The 34th Annual Starz Denver Film Festival, held at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and the brand new Denver Film Society headquarters located on Colfax, November 2nd-13th. With 12 days of Red Carpet roll outs for directors, producers, actors, patrons, etc, and personalities such as James Cromwell, Alan Cumming, Judy Greer, Michael Moore, Robert Young, to name just a few, were in attendance and "weathered" our unpredictable Colorado climate. This year's festival broke last year's record in attendance of over 50,000 people, with 250 film screenings and 47 countries being represented.

11/11/2011 - Lykke Li & First Aid Kit @ Ogden Theatre
The crowd quickly filtered in at the Ogden Theater on 11/11/11 to witness Swedish sisters First Aid Kit, a folksy melodramatic duo, who head-banged to their latest hit “The Lion's Roar.” It left the crowd anxiously waiting to see the the 25 year-old songstress, Lykke Li, whose voice is purely genuine when you hear her live. Best show of the year in my opinion.

11/09/2011 - H&M Denver Grand Opening Party @ Denver Pavilions
November 9th 2011: The guest list was full within 15 minutes of being made available. The waitlist grew just as quickly. It was a chilly Wednesday night, but people braved the air and stepped into a line that stretched for several blocks. Those who weren’t lucky enough to squeeze their name onto the guest list set up camp in preparation for the following morning. The reason for all the excitement? H&M’s much-anticipated grand opening of its first Denver store. 303 Magazine teamed up with the Swedish company to provide a select number of guests with an opportunity to spend the evening shopping, socializing, and enjoying hors d'oeuvres and drinks with fellow members of Denver’s fashion-forward community.

"303 Magazine's 5th Annual Hair Show presented by Schomp Automotive, was held at the EXDO Event Center on Saturday October 15th. A highly anticipated fashion even in Denver delivered exactly what it promised, a wild and extravagant exhibit of Denver's local talents. The lineup included stylings of Asteria Salon, Berenices, Floyd’s 99 Barbershop, Juno Salon, The Parlour, Planet Laboratories, Salon Posh and Swank Salon. Models strutted the runway to show off a variety of clever themes, complete with high fashion makeup and wardrobe that was only matched by the hairstyles themselves!

Night one of 303 Magazine’s DFW presented by Schomp BMW. The event, produced by Autum Binion of Au79 Productions with Erik Gonzales and Sara Ford and styled by Candice Goins, was in celebration of the launch of Goins’ boutique, Candies Closet. Achille Lauro opened the night with a lovely set of the indie rock persuasion as the fashion-forward 303 crowd enjoyed cocktails and Neuro Drinks.

October 1, 2011 the Ogden Theater brought us a wonderfully rare treat – Geographer and Ladytron. With the minimal team of three, Geographer surprised most people by offering headline talent in an opening slot. The clean vocals and tight rhythms did a lot to warm up crowd for what was to come. When Ladytron took the stage they made it clear to the Mile high city that UK does shoegazer better. The lights and somber mood of the players made for the perfect night of remembering deep feelings in dark nights.

September 17th, 2011, Breaker's Resort once again hosted a fabulous party for 303 Magazine's Fall Issue Release and Model Casting call for October's DFW fashion shows, with a special thanks to Bacardi Rum for their sponsorship. This was also last opportunity to sign up for the 303 Magazine and Revolution Management Model and Photographer Search. Beautiful models showed off their struts in front of a panel of judges. Live DJ's entertained the guests on the pool patio, while drinks and food were served by Breaker's Cafe. It was a beautiful evening of model casting calls, mingling with industry professionals and dancing into the night!

Fashion's Night Out was celebrated in style by Art & Soul, Barbara & Company, Buffalo Exchange, Chelsea, Common Era, Lilli, The Ritz, Savvy, Starr's, Steve Madden, Twig, Two Sole Sisters and Violette. Even the lovely, not to mention homelessness-overcoming, Blair Griffith—Miss Colorado USA—was in attendance.

September 2, 2011, marked the first night of A Taste of Colorado, held downtown at Civic Center Park. Since 1984, this event has been entertaining families with music, arts and crafts, attractions and of course a huge variety of food. No matter what kind of food you have a taste for… you could find it at A Taste of Colorado. More than 50 of Coloradoans' favorite restaurants and food establishments gathered at the Festival, featured small portions to full meals. On the main stage, a progressive rock band Asia, featuring John Payne, presented by 103.5 The Fox, had the crowd dancing and singing to their classic songs. If you didn't attend, obviously you had NO TASTE, of Colorado that is!!!

If the real testament to any great musical experience is when every young scantily dressed vixen in the house is shaking her moneymaker then DJ FLUX Pavillion and Doctor P offered no remorse for those brave enough to engage them in such guilty pleasures...

From Square Dancing to the Fabulous Miss County Fair Drag Queen Contest, Denver’s 2011 County Fair had flavors for everyone. As the evening played out, Freak Shows, Funnel Cakes and Ferris Wheels soon set as wonderful backdrop for the evenings final grand performance by the post apocalyptic marching band - Itchy –O. As they topped off the evening by rallying though the crowds, it was amazing to see how far this cow town has come.

Third day of the 9th Annual GLOBAL DANCE FESTIVAL COLORADO at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Global Dance and Triad Dragons presented Global Dance Festival Colorado, the largest annual dance music event in the Rocky Mountain United States. GDF featured the greatest electronic music artists of our generation, such as Benny Benassi, Gareth Emery, Avicii, Dave Aude, Emma Hewitt, Ecotek w/Page, Dragon and Trajikk performing in the best outdoor Concert Venue in the World.

Triad Dragons’ ninth annual Global Dance Festival was the largest in the event’s history, commandeering the planet’s finest venue—Red Rocks—for three straight nights. June 30th marked the Grand Opening of Goldyn's new boutique in LoHi with an all-out party at Linger. Runway show featuring Spring/Summer collections from Helmut Lang, See by Chloe, Iro, Vince, Rag & Bone, J Brand Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent and more. With Neuwave/darkwave/indie rock on the turntables by Double//Shadow, even the rain couldn't put a damper on the event. 06/14/2011 - PrideFest Kickoff Party + Hottest BOYLESQUE Show @ Lannie's Cabaret
On Tuesday, June 14th, 303 Magazine and The LGBT Community Center of Colorado sponsored the PrideFest kick off Party + Hottest BOYLESQUE Show at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret. This event featured hottest and sexiest BOYLESQUE in town, comedy by emcees Naughty Pierre and Fannie Spankings, and performances by Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret entertainers. It was truly an evening filled with entertainment that is hard to match.

303 Magazine's Music Issue Release Party, honoring legendary concert promoter BARRY FEY, held at Casselmans Bar and Venue on June 12th. This MUSIC and ART industry event featured artists such as Axel Geittmann, Sarah Ford, Johnathan Lamb, Joseph Martinez, Patrick Hansen, AJ McCormick, Henry Daniel Bell, Chris Adams, and Meesh Aerial. It was a night filled with stories, laughter, music and an aerial performance, a perfect setting for 303's largest MUSIC edition!!! The First Annual 303 Magazine PrideFest Special Edition Release Party and Fashion Show on May 26th, 2011 at the Exdo Event Center. The GLBT Community Center of Colorado and 303 Magazine coordinated this colorful event, with guest list including the legendary music promoter Berry Fey, fabulous designer from Project Runway Season 8 Mondo Guerra, and Denver Mayoral candidate Chris Romer. The evening wouldn't have been complete without the 20 of Denver's top male and female models walking the runway in 3 segments of Fashion Shows.

"WICKED 20 YEARS OF DISCO GLORY, May 21, 2011, special national tour sponsored by 303 Magazine, Buffalo Exchange and Beauty Bar. Wicked turned 20 this year so for one night only, the band got back together! DJ EJAY (Spellbound Music), DJ Garth & Thomas(Wicked/LA), and DJ JENO mesmerized their fans all night and into wee hours of the morning with their "wicked" tunes and remixes, at the after party held in the offices of 303 Magazine.......it certainly was a night to remember!

Global Breakdown - May 15th, 2011, created by Jason Khaz and Shin Xuan Huynh, held at Church Nightclub. It was a "fresh" atmosphere for the BIGGEST BBOY BATTLE, where the best dancers from around the US came together to compete in the dance-off. Day Two hosted the Crew Battles (4 members) where the winners walked away with $2000. 05/14/2011 - The Barn Party @ Polo Reserve
The Barn Party - benefiting Denver Active 20-30, is the kick-off to the Schomp BMW Denver Polo Classic and was held under two immaculate barns at the Polo Reserve in Littleton. This year a rising country star Tyler Reeve and his band entertained the crowd as they kicked up their heels and do-si-doed across the dance floor. There were lots of cowboy hats tippin' and boots stumpin' out the beat, and everyone had a jolly old time.

LOHI Music Festival, Reggae Saturday May 14th, created by Highland Tap Denver, featuring musical performances by SOJA, Thrive and Cas Haley. The rain couldn't stop the festivities, as the sounds of Reggae permeated through the air, the people started to sway and let the music take them away.....it certainly was a night to remember!

05/06/2011 - Roxy Summer Launch Party @ Suite 200
Suite 200 had the scent of summer in the air this weekend with Roxy's Summer Launch Party. Displaying their new swimsuits was a group of gorgeous ladies strutting down the runway, wooing the full crowd at the event. Later in the night, the runway stage was graced with the always energizing, Na Palm, who just arrived to Denver after his latest performance at the Ultra Music Festival. With his hip hop beats mixed with club sounds, he kept the energy moving through this event through the night.

Talented artists from around Denver proudly displayed their work along the streets of the Santa Fe Art District for this month's First Friday. Artists such as, Andrea Fernandez, Raul Garcia, Una Paradox, Alison Peck, Carrie O'Rourke Custis, M Jewelry Art, Shanya's Muse, and Kate Medlin displayed their creativity in Galleries such as C.C. Opiela Gallery, The Colorado Arts Center, and more. Complete with food, wine and arts of all genres, First Friday is not an event to miss.

04/29/2011 - Throwdown DJ Challenge @ Beta
Congratulations goes to Dj Wushu for winning The 1st Annual Throwdown: "A DJ Challenge Experience" in association with Skull Candy and Beta Nightclub which was a huge success!! Colorado's Top DJ's competed for the Champion Title and $1000 Cash Prize: DJ Amen, DJ Sick, DJ Bedz, DJ Nick Skeet, DJ Digi, DJ Large Child, and DJ Wushu had 12 minutes to prove their skills to the judges and get the crowd roaring, moving and grooving to the beat.

Friday night at Funky Budda was a complete blowout with EMP Audio and Twenty42 DJ's such as, ADDIKT, Proteje, SethOrin, @tom, and Vysoko! This night was full of beats and one of the best porch dance parties in Denver.

Colt 45 has released a new flavor to add to their mix! Friday night was their launch party for Snoop Dogg's malt liquor called, "Blast", by Colt 45. Kicking off this launch party was DJ talent, Peter Black. Performances also included the always wild, Cobraconda, and Fresh 2 Death.

4/22/2011 - Colorado Firefighter Calendar Fired Up for Kids - Celebrity Judging Event @ EXDO Event Center
The state’s hottest firefighting men and women took to the runway at Denver’s Exdo Events Center, competing for their very own month on the 2011 Colorado Firefighter Calendar for Fired Up for Kids. The smokin’ firefighters answered questions in their navy blues and, later, strutted their washboards to prove why they deserve to be in the 2012 calendar. Celebrity judges included Becky Ditchfield (9News), Chris Parente (The Deuce), Jamie White (106.5 The Buzz), Erica Boniface (Metromix Denver), Joanne Davidson (The Denver Post), Matthew Morris (Matthew Morris Salon), and 303’s own editor in chief Laura Standley. All proceeds from event and calender sales benefit the Children’s Hospital Burn Center.

La Rumba was pounding with beats from Resident DJs Boyhollow and Option4 this weekend. The massive dance floor was full of drinks and people moving to the DJs’ popular mixes complete with rock, indie, dubstep and electro beats for one of the largest Indie dance parties around.

04/09/2011-Bollywood and Bhangra @ 5 Degrees
One of Mumbai's most respected DJs touched down in Denver to play at Denver's 5 Degrees on friday for a night of Bollywood and Bhangra. With the dance floor packed, everyone also worked it out to local DJ AshishB—known for his blends of Bollywood with heavy influences of hip hop and electro-mixes.

Hot new fashions broke the ice at the third annual Aspen Fashion Week, showing the latest in designer outerwear on the Snowstage at the base of the mountain. Highlighting the winter fashion for 2011/2012, the slope-side runway shows were complimented by on-mountain-events and fashionable night-time events. The affair benefited the Lauren Bush FEED Foundation.

03/12/2011 - Girl Talk @ Ogden Theater
Gregg Gillis, aka Girl Talk and mashup artist put on another sold out show at the Ogden Theatre saturday night. He mixed anything from Frank Sinatra and Steve Tyrell, to TLC and the Donnas. Raining Confetti and balloons on the crowd, along with bringing many fans on stage, this dance party was one of the biggest in Denver saturday night. Opening the show was Junk Culture and and Max Tundra.

Nothing makes a Tuesday night naughtier than gathering Denver’s finest into Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret to celebrate all things sexy. With performances by burlesque dancers, magicians and George Peele and Sammy T, guests enjoyed cocktails and entertainment and were sent home with sexy gift bags—“baskets with benefits” provided by 303 Magazine and TasteTopiaEdibles.com. And, what’s sexier than philanthropy? Part of the proceeds went to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.

02/12/2011 - One Love Charity Gala @ Highland Health
In a full-on Valentine’s Day weekend extravaganza, Highland Health put on a charity bash to raise money for research for a cure and awareness for breast cancer. Guests enjoyed food and drinks by Stir and Gastro Cart, DJs, a live band and the chance to win a date with MMA fighter Brandon “Rukus” Thatch at Table 6 in the silent auction, among a myriad of other enticing auction items.

01/08/2011 – Awards issue ceremony
303 honored Chris “Birdman” Andersen as the 303 Person of the Year, Nina Flowers, Donna Baldwin, David Raccuglia, Steven Trujillo and Tran Wills with 303 awards for their contribution to fashion in 2010, and winners in every category from Restaurant of the Year (El Diablo) to Female and Male models of the year (Ashley LeRoy, Tom Firth), to Local Designer of the Year Mondo Guerra. In this intimate gathering, guests enjoyed appetizers by 8 Rivers, a silent auction with five pairs of Nuggets tickets and thirty signed copies of 303’s January issue with a spread of Birdman in high fashion which benefitted Alliance for Choice in Education. Partners for this event included Denver Nuggets, Vista TV Denver and The Denver Press Club.

01/27/2011 - SNOWDOWN w/ Z-Trip @ City Hall
We Coloradans love the white stuff. While I'm sure the Columbian kind has its share of fans here too, I'm referring to the variety Old Man Winter manufactures on Mother Earth's face. God's dandruff, if you're of the “invisible man in the sky” persuasion. In case you've been hiding under a non-Rocky Mountain rock, SIA's Snow Show was back in D-Town for the second straight year. Entry to the actual convention wasn't be open to the non-industry public, but City Hall—the bar not the government building—hosted an after-party on Thursday, January 27. Mash-up master Z-Trip and rapper Lloyd Banks headlined the soiree, dubbed Snowdown. Locals galore filled out the bill and shwag was on hand from sponsors Never Summer, Vitamin Water and more.

McCarthy Entertainment and Gavin Beldt Promotions threw down at Denver’s biggest welcome back to the spring semester, with appearances by Denver Broncos, Real World cast members and other guest celebrities. Denver Outlaw dancers hosted the party, with performances by Ali Pierre and Andre Fabre, a naughty school girl runway show and giveways. 303 magazine would like to acknowledge, in no particular order, Posh (Larimer Square), 5 Green Boxes (Old South Pearl) and Common Era (Lower Highlands) for their spectacular window displays. This year, the window displays ranged from homey renditions with sparkling lights, to simple iconic images, to displays that incorporated the store's product as much as the spirit if the season. In addition, 303 Magazine would like to acknowledge the student window display designers who participated in this year's walk: Avichayil Michal, Tamar Ancel, Julie Maldonado, Mary Ochse, April Anderson and Cassandra Bojoh.

In an extravaganza to benefit the Colorado AIDS Project, with all donations matched dollar-for-dollar by the Gill Foundation in a silent auction, fifteen Denver salons and sixteen local designers put on a fashion show.
