Though Daylight Saving Time is turning the evenings dark around six p.m. there is still plenty of reason to venture out this week. The Lowdown: This weekly series provides the opportunity for renowned grape experts to pair wines with a seasonal four-course menu, while working side-by-side with co-owner and master sommelier, Bobby Stuckey. The first evening covers the wines of Burgundy With Eddie Gilbert of North Berkeley Imports. Reservations begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Lowdown: Election coverage is shown on the big screen all night long. If you figure this year’s election may warrant a drink the Oriental Theater has got you covered. The politically minded will come together to celebrate, commiserate, cheer, brawl, cry and provide much-needed comfort.

Free BBQ Sandwiches at GQue Championship BBQ

The Lowdown: GQue Championship BBQ is celebrating their one year anniversary on Wednesday, November 9 with free pork sandwiches. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. and has 250 sandwiches to give away, so the earlier the better if you want to guarantee yourself a piece of the action. The restaurant will also be giving away free samples of sausage bites, wings, kettle chips, cookies, and other menu items all day to patrons who missed the earlier excitement.

Gears & Grub Trivia

The Lowdown: Put on by the Denver Food Rescue this event is free bike and food themed trivia. There will be free food including gluten free options. Also, there will be free beer and prizes. The event is a chance to learn about the impact of Denver Food Rescue and see where they are going in 2017. A good time for all the right reasons.

Green Chili Extravaganza

Night One of First Bite’s Boulder Restaurant Week

The Lowdown: Beginning Friday First Bite will be curating Boulder Restaurant Week in which 40 of the areas top restaurants will be serving a special three-course meal. Participating restaurants include Arugala, The Dushanbe Teahouse, FATE, Cafe Aion and Shine.
