4 Pop-ups You Can’t Miss This Weekend

Even though summer is winding down, there are many exciting events happening this weekend in the Denver food scene. Start this Saturday with Rosenberg’s Bagels breakfast sandwiches, then sip on Del Maguey mezcals and nosh on some tamales at the Source. Wrap up the weekend with some fancy ramen or handmade pasta.

Saturday, August 27: Bagels, Bacon & Breakfast

What: Forbidden Love Pop-up at Il Porcellino

Where: 4334 W 41st Ave

When: 7 a.m. until supplies run out

Cost: Prices vary

Low Down: Be an early bird and participate in the Forbidden Love event. Line up for Rosenberg’s famous egg sandwiches with Il Porcellino house-made bacon and breakfast sausage. Proceeds will benefit the Piggy Bank Foundation. Get there early so you don’t miss out on this mashup made in Denver dining heaven.

Saturday, August 27: Del Maguey at The Source

What: Del Maguey Mezcal at RiNo Yacht Club

Where: 3350 Brighton Blvd #100

When: 7-9 p.m.

Cost: $30

Low Down: Head to the RiNo Yacht Club at the Source to taste James Beard Award-winning Del Maguey mezcals paired with Oaxacan dishes including tamales with black mole from Chula Tamales along with fresh oysters and a raw bar. Yacht Club beverage director McLain Hedges is mixing up cocktails using the rare and dynamic selections of mezcal.

Sunday, August 28: Pop-up Ramen shop

What: Ramen at Clyde  

Where: 112 E 8th Ave

When: 5-8 p.m.

Cost: $10

Low Down: This isn’t your college cup of noodles. Andrew Novick is creating a seasonal pop-up ramen shop at Clyde—formerly the lauded Le Central—which will feature green chile ramen and peach cobbler dessert ramen. In addition to trying both ramen dishes, a cash bar will also be available for guests to sip on cocktails, beer and wine. Make sure to pay for your ticket in advance.

Sunday, August 28: Dio Mio Preview

What: Dio Mio Preview at Hop Alley

Where: 3500 Larimer St

When: 6-10 p.m.

Cost: $30, $20 wine tasting

Low Down: Tickets for the Dio Mio Preview are sold out, so this is a friendly reminder to those who have already purchased their tickets. The one-off dinner includes three-courses with bread service and gluten-free pasta as an alternative option. If you haven’t already purchased an additional wine pairing ticket, you can do that here. The event will have a cash bar and gratuity is not included in your purchased tickets, so be sure to have some extra on hand for the night.
