The Low Down: Head over to Cook Street School this week to enjoy hand-crafted dishes from emerging chefs. The school hosts its own restaurant week where its students plan, prepare, and serve three-course lunches for the public. Their cafe is converted into a fine dining restaurant for the week and the lunch menus will change each day. Three seatings for the 45 minute lunches are served Monday through Friday.

Izakaya Den’s Sliced Sushi Making Class

When: Wednesday, April 13. 6:30 p.m.

Where: Izakaya Den, 1487A South Pearl St., Denver

The Low Down: The Kizaki brothers behind Sushi Den, Izakaya Den and Ototo have helped shaped the Denver sushi scene and are looking to share their craft. This Wednesday, and the following two Wednesdays in April, Izakaya Den will offer sushi making classes. Held in a private room, learn to create all styles of sushi rolls and stay for a seated dinner afterwards. $75 includes the class, 20 pieces of sushi and miso soup. The Real Dill Pickle Party

The Low Down: Join The Real Dill in celebrating the release of its Thai Chile Ginger pickles this Friday. You can expect a full Thai-themed evening with food from Mile High Thai, a Thai-inspired brew from Ratio Beerworks, and speciality cocktails from Backyard Soda Co. and Bear Creek Distillery. Live music from the Raritans fills your ears as you fill your bellies with free samples and drinks. Donations are suggested as all proceeds benefit Re:Vision, a Denver nonprofit focused on empowering resident leaders and growing self-sufficient economies.

Denver Bacon and Beer Classic

When: Saturday, April 16. 1-4 p.m. & 7-10 p.m
