Denver Concerts This Week – Joe Satriani, Trout Steak Revival and More

Yet another surprising week of wintertime sun is ahead of us. However, not so surprisingly, so is another week full of amazing and diverse live music in Denver. A perfect way to get out all of that vitamin D energy. Check out this week’s top picks below.

Monday, March 7

Joe Satriani @ The Paramount Theater – $45

The week begins fast with guitar veteran Joe Satriani at the Paramount Theater. This 15-time Grammy Award nominee has sold over 10 million albums with various groups, all off the back of his leading rock guitar. Monday’s show will feature no singing, but only an experience of every emotion possible, all conveyed by his big guitar sound.

Tuesday, March 8

Ben Rector @ The Ogden Theatre – $25

The week continues with Nashville based Ben Rector, a perfect mix of pop and rock, with a pinch of country to quickly turn around  any midweek blues. Rector’s album sales reflect an immense talent, recording all his own vocals, drums, piano and guitar for each of his tracks.

Z-Trip @ Cervantes Ballroom – $20

DJing today has taken on many different faces, however from the original meaning and a true long-time veteran of the game, Z-trip has found his way into the Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom this Friday. Like any great DJ, Z-Trip will play to his crowd, but there is know way of knowing what that exactly mean unless you attend a sure to be good time with this party starting expert.

Ty Segall & the Muggers @ The Gothic Theatre – $20

For all you die-hard rockers out there, Ty Segall & the Mugger have made their way to Denver to give the Gothic a very grungy Friday night. Known for his numerous bands and even more numerous albums, Ty Segall is one of the few to make it big sticking to the garage rock feel, giving him a very unique and intense sound.

Saturday, March 12

Trout Steak Revival – The Bluebird Theatre – $16

Colorado is now the capital of bluegrass, and is where all five members of Trout Steak Revival met from around the country to create their successful all string band. If done right, bluegrass has become known to be some of the best times for live music, and Trout Steak Revival is a name found at the top of Colorado’s long list of amazing bluegrass groups.
