The Low Down: Last week Panzano, the metropolitan Northern Italian restaurant, released an updated menu for its award-winning happy hour. Now the extended daily deal will offer luxe new options including rabbit porcetta, pancetta-wrapped shrimp, osso buco ravioli and truffled gnocchi. In addition, the bar received a facelift with new renovations that include a new sleek design with leathered granite bartop and marbled tile backsplash. As for the drinks, the barrel aged cocktails take center stage. New bar manager and hospitality industry veteran, Derek Lovell explained, “The new cocktail list utilizes house made shrubs and bitters and the amaro list will be expanded to at least 20 selections and offer flights of amaro.”
New glassware and an ice-making machine that produces perfect square, clear cubes will also elevate the program. Recently added cocktails include new takes on classics with The Incontrare, an Italian twist on a margarita made with Espolón tequila, Campari, Solerno blood orange liqueur, lime, blood orange soda with a black Hawaiian sea salt rim and the First Date, a riff on an old fashioned made with Bulleit rye, Montenegro, brown sugar, nutmeg, dates and chocolate tangerine bitters. Patrons can still enjoy all happy hour draft beer for just $4 with four wines by the glass for $5. Specialty cocktails range from $5 to $6 with happy hour plates ringing in at $5 to $7.
