The Low Down: As the seasons change, so do the crops. In honor of fall, EatDenver is hosting its annual Harvest week, a week filled with local and fresh food. The event will be hosted at the non-profit GrowHaus, an indoor farm and marketplace that sells affordable and fresh food. Over 35 restaurants in Denver will participate in the “pop-up” style brunches and dinner parties. “Harvest Week gives guests the opportunity to see first hand the capabilities of how local, fresh ingredients make their way to the tables of our restaurants,” said Leigh Jones from EatDenver. While the food is provided, place settings are not; guests are required to bring their own plates, utensils, napkins, cups, etc. To accompany the food, the festival will offer special cocktails, locally brewed beers, and delicious wines. Be sure to dress up accordingly to match each night’s unique theme.

The Low Down: Project Helping, founded in 2014, is a non-profit organization that promotes helping others to help yourself. Knowing that “depression affects 1 in 10 people, 80 percent of whom don’t seek treatment because of the associated stigma,”  the Helping Project creates “a vast, passionate, active network of volunteers, [hoping to] end the stigma associated with depression while giving back to our local communities and serving others in need,” according to the founders Justin and Ashlee Kruger.  They believe that volunteering can help improve mental stability and well being. To raise money, the Helping Project has partnered with New Image Brewing, a new modern brewery, who will help host the event. While benefiting a good cause, you will enjoy a night that will include three free beers, live music, and some fun games!
