Dram Apothecary, a popular Colorado bitters, syrup and tea company, is now raising money to restore the historic Knights of Pythias Secret Society Lodge located across the street from its production and tasting room in Silver Plume. With the help of funds gathered through its Kickstarter, the former 19th century miner house and secret society meeting hall will be transformed into a coffee/retail area, a secret tavern complete with shuffleboard and pinball machines, as well as five rooms for overnight accommodation. Also the first floor will serve as its production floor for Dram’s renowned bitters and syrups, which are made using foraged local goods.

“We were really fortunate to come across the opportunity to buy what is locally referred to as the K.P. [Knights of Pythias Lodge],” said Dram owner, Shae Whitney. “Since the building is so old its in need of a lot of repairs… basically the entire building needs to be updated. But it’s important to us to that we keep the original glory… So we plan to give it a little bit of a face lift and make it shine again.”

The Kickstarter goal is currently set at $25,000. The money will go towards not only restoring the lodge but will also help Dram buy updated equipment so it can improve and expand its production. To learn more about the project, go here
