Founded in Boston, The November Project started as a pack between two friends to hold each other accountable and work out. Rain, shine, snow or sleet, there was no excuse for not showing up. When Brogan and Bojan committed to this idea and each other, a movement was born.

Today the November Project inhabits 20 cities and they are expanding their domain quickly. The November Project is simple and effective, they provide free, ass-kicking workouts, you show up and sweat.

The Denver chapter of The November Project, NP5280, meets every Wednesay at 5:30 AM and 6:15 AM at alternating locations at Civic Center Park Ampitheater and the Denver Capitol Building Steps and on Fridays at 6:15 AM at different locations around Denver.

Once you arrive you will be greeted by smiling faces, high fives and fuck yeahs. The workouts are free but that does not mean they are not taxing. My first November Project experience took place in Squaw Valley this past week.

Our workout started with a half mile warm up jog and then moved swiftly into breakout rounds. The huddle of humans was broken into four groups and spread out into four separate stations. Ten burp-bees, 500 foot crab walk, 500 foot stair run and a strong finish with 10 squats. The goal was to complete as many rounds of the circuit as possible in only 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes my legs were burning and I was seriously dripping sweat.

Then we broke into teams of five and competed in a relay race. Passing off snow from member to member to be the first team to successfully build a snowman. Awards for the first team to finish and the best looking snow creature motivated everyone. The workout was exhausting and truly entertaining.

The best part about this structure of working out is that it is completely scalable for all levels of participants. Whether it is your first day ever working out or you are a seasoned athlete, you can dictate your own intensity level. The November Project is a passionate group of locals who challenge each other to work out and show up, even if you need to scale it back for the day.
