This weekend is your last chance to see the 25th Annual International Snow Sculpture Championships. Fifteen teams from 10 different countries labor for days using only hand tools to carve gigantic masterpieces from 24-ton ice blocks on the streets of Breckenridge, Colorado. Working day and night these artists chisel away till their sculpture in unveiled.

Judging happened this past Saturday and all the sculptures will remain on display throughout the rest of the weekend.

Most of the hand tools from a local hardware store just wont cut it, so the artists create their own custom tools to carve, shape, drill and sharpen every angle of the sculptures.

Team Lithuania takes home the gold in the 25th annual International Snow Sculpture Championships with their sculpture “The Wind of Eternal Change.” The piece displays Noah’s ark suspended high in the clouds. Selecting a winner is always a difficult task.
