Finding the right fringe can be frustrating. But don’t fret, fashion fanatics. Fall into a new look this season with beautiful bangs. Learn a little about your look to find the fringe that fits your face.

Like any other aspect of styling whether it’s hair or clothing, it requires a bit of education on the fundamentals since we come in all shapes and sizes. There is a exception to every rule but these basics will ensure your makeover is a bang.

Oval Faces are roughly longer than they are wide with a forehead that’s slightly wider than the chin. Those with an oval face can typically wear any hair style. Bold bangs that hit right between the brows and lashes would be an adorable alteration.  If you can wear them all, why not dive into something more drastic?

Round Faces are wider with a round hairline and chin line. With a round face, we want to create the illusion of length by adding volume on top. Here, another bold bang is the most complementary change. While a straight across bang

sounds simple, those with a round face should pay close attention to the shape and amount of bangs. Be specific in your request. Round faces should have a thick-curved fringe that dusts along cheekbones on sides.

Square Faces are wide at the temples and squared off at the jaw line. With square faces we want to round out the sharper features. Adding a shaggier fringe will frame the sides of your face and soften the hard features. Square face shapes can get away with a more feathery fringe. Any amount of hair usually works well.

Heart-Shaped Faces are wider at the forehead and narrow through the chin. We want to decrease the width of the forehead with fringe. A side swept bang is perfect here. It adds balance and practically points to your eyes. Again, side swept fringe can be as thick or wispy as you’d like. Just be sure the shortest piece starts and your eyebrow and gradually gets longer framing your face reaching your overall length. Now, go pin up your bangs and play in the mirror and have fun with your fringe this fall.
