Typhy2The Denver hip-hop scene is always on the move. At any given time anyone can have their eardrums inundated with the hottest beats or their visuals stimulated by intriguing videos. MC’s in the Mile High City are continuing to find the most innovative ways to convey their creative expression. It’s easy to find content and material to cover in the scene but gathering the very best is most key. Here at 303 Magazine, we listen to and watch everything so you don’t have to. In the instance of this piece, here are the top three videos that have crossed my desk this week for your enjoyment.

“Sailor Moon,” is the offering from Soul City Studios affiliate Typhy and is another track where lyrics take center stage. Typhy’s rhymes are constructed in such a way that his point is made almost immediately. Mikey Fresh’s production gives this track a lift and Typhy’s fresh style is a warm change from the normal. Kid Vegas is a character in the scene we can always count on for new music.  This track “Lost Your Mind,” is from his latest mixtape release Addicted to the Life. Vegas by design is a braggadocios rapper and he doesn’t disappoint on this joint. He employs a stuttered mid-tempo flow to spit his rhymes over this bass-laden production. Listen below:

Illiam Elton, a newcomer to the rap scene here in Denver has the most distinctive voice out of the bunch. This track “Be Myself,” is heavy on the boom bap sound and thorough rhymes. Elton is a storyteller and the rapping is better than good. Lyrically “Be Myself,” is strongest as the production is sonically stripped down. Listen below
