This weekend offers a unique bend on the artistic out and about opportunities. Tonight at the Paramount Theater is the World Premier of Valhalla, a back-country ski and snowboarding explosion of color and incredible landscapes, and Saturday is a special fund raiser for Dan Pertile.
“The weightlessness of youth; every breath radiates opportunity and hope; every sense thrives on the wealth of the present; every thing whispers of brilliance and awe. When you’ve seen the season’s first great snow through the eyes of a child – you’ve known true happiness. But what happened to that simple joy? Where do we find the freedom that time and wisdon stole away? Valhalla, Sweetgrass Productions’ fourth feature film, is the tale of one man’s search to redisdover the freedom of his youth. Feeling the distant heat of it’s fire still burning in the mountains of the frozen north, he goes in search of those tending the flame – the untamed, the wild, and the outcast dwelling on the fringe.”
So step beyond the rain soaked city streets to the Paramount Theater, tonight for the Denver Premier of Valhalla, 1621 Glenarm Place, Denver, CO 80202-4301, +1 (303) 623-0106. Purchase your tickets through Ticket Horse, tickethorse.com/event/valhalla/1684.
Saturday, September 14th, feeling a little thirsty and hungry? Then join “The First Annual 2013 COLORADO BACON AND BREWS FEST will include many local craft brews and several samples of delicious snacks for every bacon aficionado. There will be live music, a local bacon cook-off competition, and a bacon bouncy castle for the kids. We are raising the awesomeness and awareness of bacon and beers to local Coloradan’s and a benefit for Dan Pertile who was in a debilitating car accident over the spring season. General admission is only a $10 donation. The money raised for the event will go to help out Dan Pertile and his family. We are currently seeking volunteers and taking applications for open vendor spots. General admission is only 10 bucks. If interested in bacon, please send a request to [email protected] Currently the site is still under construction, more updates to the site soon.” https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=654177017927632&set=oa.626263737408109&type=1&theater
