The third round of the 303 Magizine Pool Party Series is quickly approaching. Although the first two pool parties were awesome, we want to make sure that this one turns out to be even bigger and better. One might be under the impression that a pool party is simply a place to relax and soak up the sun, however, 303 Magazine pool parties are all that and more. Below are a couple of the best movie pool parties and great tips to make this Sunday’s event a blast.
This film was written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Boogie Nights was released in 1997, and is actually an expansion and improvement of Anderson’s 1988 short film, The Dirk Diggler story. The movie follows the story of a rising, then falling porn star (Mark Wahlberg). In addition to Wahlberg, the movie features Robert Downey Sr., Nicole Ari Parker, Don Cheadle, and many more. Although the plot is a little risqué one thing is for sure, the people in Boogie Nights sure do know how to party at the pool. There’s a big backyard with a fairly large pool filled with sparkling blue water. There’s also plenty of fruit, drinks, and cannonballs to go around.
Caddyshack is a sports film, released in 1980. The movie follows a high school caddy working at a local golf club trying to save money for college. However, there is a scene where the golf club employees decide to stick it to the man and throw an impromptu pool party, rustling the feathers of the pompous golf club regulars. The lively colors, and sense of spontaneity makes for a great pool party, and of course, it’s only better because all of the employees are friends.
Perhaps the biggest pool party in film history could be claimed by a film titled Project X. The film has more of a simple plot, and although there really isn’t too much of story (other than high school kids partying), the party is epic. The movie stars Thomas Mann, Oliver Cooper, and a few other budding actors. The pool party takes place in the backyard of high school student Thomas, while his parents are out-of-town. Thomas’ best friend Costa has intentions of throwing him the best birthday party ever, and although most of the events in the movie are accidental, the party proves to be a success. With a nighttime pool party, plenty of people and a bangin’ DJ, how could you go wrong?
The third 303 Magazine Pool party will take place this Sunday, the 15th. The party starts at 11 a.m. and lasts until 6 p.m. The party will be held at The Breakers Resort located on East Mississippi Avenue.
