It’s no mystery why Boulder, Colo. is repeatedly ranked one of the happiest cities in the U.S.. After all, it’s a health conscious – yet foodie city – with a strong appreciation for education, the arts and outdoor activities. And only a short drive from Denver, honestly, what’s not to love? For your next adventure, head to a B&B that recognizes everything this lively city has to offer. The Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast is nestled in a quiet neighborhood and just minutes from some of Boulder’s most popular attractions. During this B&B adventure, guest can relive their college glory days or indulge in the irresistible food and trendy stores that make up the Pearl Street Mall – all while enjoying spectacular views of the flatirons.

The Bed

It may be its colorful garden or ideal location that attracts guest from all over the world to this B&B, but the home away from home feeling you get when standing outside that 19th century house is what keeps you coming back year after year. With 10 guest rooms to choose from, guests are offered a wide range of amenities to enjoy during their stay. The Huron Room features a remodeled bathroom with elegant tile, a skylight and even a jacuzzi big enough for two! This room is ideal for guest looking for more privacy during their stay. The B&B offers a number of packages, like the dinner and movie package for $289. This includes a one night stay in either the Northstar Room, the Teakettle Room or the Redcloud Room, a $100 gift certificate for one of Boulder’s delicious restaurants, a $30 gift certificate to the 29th Street Mall Century Boulder Theater and of course breakfast and all you can drink tea (until 9 p.m. that is). The Breakfast

One thing that guests can count on during their stay at this B&B is that their food will always be fresh. Every morning guest will start their day with an organic breakfast that includes fruit cups, baked sweet breads, yogurt served with raspberries, eggs cooked to order and served with toast, fresh orange juice and don’t forget the homemade granola (I hear its to die for). But what really stands out about this B&B is the extensive recipe list, many of which are original recipes, that can all be found on their website.  Trust me, they can bake any kind of bread or muffin you could ever want. The B&B is known for its olive & sun-dried tomato tapenade, southwestern frittata and homemade salsa. Guests can enjoy their breakfast in the main dining room or on the sun porch. You can also arrange to have a relaxing breakfast in bed. Guests are also offered organic loose-leaf teas throughout the day. And no, this is not your typical store-bought tea. This tea is brought in from all over the world and is the real deal. Some of it is even their own blend! Impressive much?

 The Adventure

One nice thing about Boulder is there is rarely a dull moment. Between the never-ending entertainment found on the Pearl Street Mall and the mountain trails ready to take you through the flatirons, there has got to be a fun adventure in store for every one. But just to be safe, here are a few ideas:

  • Take in the scenery while strolling down Boulder Creek Path
  • Snack on locally grown produce at the Boulder County Farmers’ Market
  • Take a little drive and cool off at the Boulder Reservoir
  • Head on over to the Shakespeare Festival on the University of Colorado campus
  • Or maybe have a night out on the town and enjoy some of Boulder’s delicious restaurants (The B&B will help you find the perfect spot and even make the reservation if given enough notice)

At the end of this B&B getaway, you will probably leave with some new friends, satisfied taste buds and new memories to write home about.  The only thing left on my mind is:

Where to next time?
