The xx: pure sexx

The xx just might be one of the sexiest bands on the planet. The British act seduced Mile High club eardrums last night with its yearning minimalism and whispered soul. The audio was pristine. The light show was simple, yet immaculately choreographed. The combined elements made for a presentation of staggering, heart-wrenching beauty that rendered me nearly speechless. I was compelled to slink and slither. I couldn’t believe I’d never done it before, though, to be fair, it was my first time experiencing the in-person version. Unsurprisingly, amplifying the xx enhances their danceability. I had the sudden urge to perform some kind of post-modern tango with a similarly turned-on partner. Makeout sessions were made possible. It was a short set, clocking in at just about an hour, but I, for one, had zero complaints. I’ll take quality over quantity any day of any fortnight. I can guarantee a lot of fans got lucky post-show. Well played, the xx, well played.
