Artistic adventures await us at every turn. This is how I like to live my life. However, these adventures will not  happen if you don’t get yourself out and about. Such is the case when I accepted the invitation to “The Jewish Experience”. Not knowing what to expect, but knowing that there was art to be viewed, I attended Wednesday night’s Art Reception. Upon entering I was greeted with the artwork of Ester Myatlov, born in Birobidzhan, Russia. Myatlov delicately painted oils and lithographs danced with such simple beauty of storytelling, each stroke of her brush was so perfectly placed. At every turn I was left speechless, with a sense of awe, and pleasantly reminded of the beauty that surrounds us all in the form of artwork.

This year the art show features 1500 works by 100 artists with mediums in oils, watercolor, lithographs and etchings. If there is an art show that you just can’t miss, then this is the one.  The oil paintings by Slava Ilyayev reflect a remarkable life-like quality that you want to enter and become one with the painting.
