Feist puppeteered a sock for her called Bitch Lap Lap. M.I.A. designed costumes for her. Pink, The Flaming Lips, Christina Aguilera and REM all invited her to guest on their respective albums. Iggy Pop and Joan Jett both joined her on records. Lady Gaga could certainly stand to give her a shout out or three. Peaches is her name, and taboo fruit is her game. From bearded ladies to Rapunzel-caliber pubes, black and white gender roles are never quite safe in the Berlin-based artist’s hands.

Peaches burst onto the international scene in the early aughts with “Fuck the Pain Away,” a live recording of the tune’s public debut in her onetime Toronto hometown. She’s been bursting at the seams ever since–with nary a sour note in between. As it happens, “Burst” is her fresh new single on BoysNoize Records, and she is pimping it from behind CDJ turntables—clad in a cluster of Barbie head-nippled breasts—while her dancers writhe around the stage in werewolf masks. It’s certainly a spectacle to behold, and Mile High clubbers can do so tonight at LoDo’s Summit Music Hall (1902 Blake). Brace yourself for the teaches.
