LOL Ways: Circus Nerd Lo-Lo Flamingo Hosts Girl Next Dork at Lannie’s

College students generally juggle a lot. Term papers, part-time jobs, bong hits, parental expectations, binge drinking, sexy time in the library and more. The artist currently known as Lo-Lo Flamingo one upped most though, teaching herself to juggle balls as a way to relieve stress. Three balls became four, four became five, you get the picture. Eight years later, Lo-Lo is a full-time traveling performer who has added unicycling, burlesque and even fire to her impressive repertoire. On the first Wednesday of every month, she hosts an almost one-woman show called Girl Next Dork at one of Denver’s best kept secrets, Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret (16th & Arapahoe). Girl Next Dork takes you deep inside Lo-Lo’s 1950s bedroom, where sleazy (imaginary?) friend Juan Dorito is a frequent guest. Shameless self-promo alert: you might recognize another guest in the clip below. It ain’t so-so.

Still, aiming high is rarely a bad idea, (unless you're defending yourself against a murderous Leprechaun) no matter how trivial the underlying reason for doing so may be.

If you perused my debut blog for 303, “Musical Resolutions” (or if we're virtual friends on Facecrack or Myspazz), you're aware that America's Got Talent has been cyber-stalking me. To recap briefly, a Casting Director somehow found me on Myspazz and asked me to submit for consideration. I submitted an application and several YouTube clips in December and awaited their verdict.
