Ladies and gentlemen, if you have not yet gotten tickets to the Ogden Theatre’s soiree a la mode, get in line: this is Boombox. The duo consists of Russ Randolph and Zion Rock Godchaux; the two will take the to stage this Saturday. Though Godchaux is typically the more iconic of the two, always strumming his guitar front and center donning a huge furry top hat and  feather boa, both members are producers, DJs and instrumentalists, and they work as a team to turn out the cool breezy electric blues rock that is Boombox.

The best thing about a Boombox show is the varying levels of energy that come with the twosome’s assortment of sounds; you can go from chill downtempo electronica to jazz and then to blues, and within the blink of an eye you are blindsided by some booty-shaking funk–it’s a helluva time.

And what’s more, Boombox makes music couture: according to their website, “Each live show is unique to the venue and the crowd, who are the driving force of the rhythmic BoomBox experience,” so you are guaranteed to have a one-of-a-kind experience.

Tomorrow Mikey Thunder and SunSquabi will be kicking off the show, so don’t be late; doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9pm.
