It’s Denver Fashion Weekend (DFW), but let’s divert our attention to Oscar’s fashion for a moment. The 84th Academy Awards were on Sunday, and let’s be honest, the fashion was more captivating than the actual ceremony.
An overwhelming trend was what I’m calling the “softer side of stars.” Many A-list actresses opted for ethereal, romantic gowns in white, nude or blush tones. And, the look was often amplified with soft wavy hair, making for an overall angelic look. I love Steven Cojocaru talking about it in this video via LifeMinute.TV (minus the Amex plug at the end).
Octavia Spencer complimented her curves with a white blinged-out Tadashi Shoji dress, while Milla Jovovich glowed in a one-shoulder glittery Elie Saab gown. Kristen Wiig played up her soft waves with a strapless blush-toned J. Mendel frock and Rooney Mara departed from her usual goth-like looks, opting for a white Givenchy gown with a plunging back.
While others went for jewel-toned or classic black ensembles, the angelic look surely was the most divine.
