Hindsight: TV On the Radio @ The Ogden

TVOTR's LEGO costumes are convincing

TV On the Radio is rad. On the second night of their two-night stand at The Ogden this week, I was too busy dancing to take many mental notes. Next to sex, though, interpreting music with your body is the second best kind of aerobic exercise you can get IMO.

The greatest thing about TVOTR is their sound. With fuzzy buzzsaw guitars, often electronic-sounding bass, tight timekeeping and frontman Tunde Adebimpe’s ear candy vocal timbre, they really can’t go wrong. They’ve obviously written some earworms over the years, but even their least memorable tune pleases when those building blocks are in place. I’m not a ginormous fan of Adebimpe’s falsetto, but, then again, I’m not a ginormous fan of my falsetto either. Otherwise, live versions of TVOTR staples like “DLZ” and “Wolf Like Me” kept us in perpetual motion for the entirety of the set.

Anyone else indulge in TVOTR this week? Do tell:)

  1. I wanted to go to this show more than any other in the last two years. I can’t believe I didn’t. Too many late work nights this week make Aubrey go something, something.
