It seems the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Awards gain more and more mainstream popularity every year. What used to be a fairly routine award ceremony to honer fashion’s best of the year has grown to an endless red carpet, poking paparazzi and mass global appeal.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by Anderson Cooper (random!) at New York’s Lincoln Center on Monday evening. Lady Gaga was honored with the Fashion Icon of the Year award, while Marc Jacobs received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. Duo Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough took home Womenswear Designer of the Year for their highly acclaimed Proenza Schouler line and Alexander Wang received Accessory Designer of the Year honors.
