Pozitiv-a-Tee

The winter hibernation of January is finally over! My inbox is starting to see a PR flood; from new openings to all things fashionable, charitable, and notable.

This weeks notable and charitable is no stranger to 303–maybe we should just dedicate a weekly posting following his every move? Stalker much?! Our editors here at 303 knew Mondo before his famed introduction to the fashion world as runner-up of Project Runway Season 8, he was one of our picks as local designer in our Local Issue July ’09. Mondo’s emotional coming out as HIV-positive on the show touched us all and let’s not forget the print he created as part of the challenge in which it happened, a challenge he won. During the show and since, Mondo has not only been designing fabulous clothing, he is also giving back to the community.

Mondo is teaming up with the Colorado AIDS Project (CAP) to launch The Pozitivity Project. At the forefront of the project is Mondo’s Project Runway challenge-winning textile pattern. The launch will offer up to 200 Denverites the opportunity to meet the Project Runway Season 8 Runner Up and will be among the first to obtain a Pozitiv-a-Tee featuring Mondo’s creative textile pattern from the show and include their voices in the worthwhile campaign. A portion of each sale will be donated to CAP to support our mission of helping to support the spread of HIV & AIDS and supporting those affected by the disease.

Mondo, CAP and Wilhelmina Denver will host The Pozitivity Project Launch Party on February 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Wilhelmina Models studio, 209 Kalamath St., Ste. 10 in Denver.
