Festival de Vida
Each month, we here at 303 interview two strangers off the street for our “303 Style” back pages. You might have noticed April Charmaine on page 72 of May’s Music Issue. In her interview, Charmaine mentions that she’s a choreographer and dance teacher for Sol Vida. Festival de Vida, a student dance recital Charmaine is curating at Guerilla Garden (3821 Steele), just so happens to be happening today. I’ve been to a couple of my goddaughter Saqarra’s dance recitals recently, and can definitely vouch for their entertainment value. Sure, the futility of attempting to synchronize toddlers in leotards can often provide hilarious results, but happy tears are just as common. Festival de Vida features hip hop, spoken word and much more.
